Paws & Picks is an independent site for dog and cat owners who want gear that fits and a home that is safe. We write sizing guides, setup checklists and buying guides, and we build free tools such as our dog bed and litter box calculators.
How we work
- Fit first. The most common pet-gear mistake is the wrong size. Our guides show how to measure your pet and what numbers to compare on a product page.
- Safety guidance from the experts. Health and safety points come from veterinary and animal-welfare organizations such as the ASPCA and the San Francisco SPCA, and we link to them.
- We are not your vet. We write about gear and setup, not diagnosis or treatment. When something could be a medical problem, we say so and tell you to call a veterinarian.
- Honest about our research. Recommendations are based on specifications, manufacturer instructions, expert guidance and patterns in long-term owner feedback. We do not invent hands-on tests, pets or stories.
